Skipper Profile

An IT specialist hoping to return to a more low tech existence for the duration of the AZAB! Married to Louise with one son, 4 year old Matthew. Crew on legs of the 1998/1999 and 2005/2006 Clipper RTW races Skippered a total of 5 three peaks yacht race entries between 2000 and 2008 (and even diversified into climbing Ben Nevis on one occasion) Whilst I have clocked up a fair number of offshore miles both racing and cruising this will be my first experience of shorthanded ocean racing.

Co-Skipper Profile

An accountant who really wanted to be a lion tamer ! Married to Moira (also a sailor) with 3 young guns...Katherine, Calum and Aidan who are all very handy on a yacht (and far better than their parents in dinghies !) I came fairly late to sailing at the age of 26 but that was still quite a while ago. A survivor of many ill considered sea adventures (mostly involving Steve, my co-skipper) and our first real boat Chic-Nic, a Nicholson 30. Moira and I then decided to buy Promise a Holman and Pye Oyster 42, which I took down to Lisbon from the Clyde for my first and only "ocean" passge. I've always wanted to take part in the AZAB so very much looking forward to a few weeks lounging around on deck sipping tequila while Steve sails Kilva !
