Coming up to the finish

5.30 am,up most of the night,going hammer and tongs,almost sick with
tiredness.Fell asleep at helm,found myself pointing the wrong way.Get a grip
mate. Now 10 miles off the Lizard. Brand new sparkly day. little breeze fresh
and the Cornish coast is looking as beautiful as it can be,lit up by the early
morning sun.

spray,wind just aft of the beam, carrying big speeds.Glorious.Needs to be after
this morning and a very bad tempered spinnaker.About 10 the wind dropped to 10

the east side of the rhumb line with good speeds and thoroughly enjoying
life,some 20 miles east when everyone was 10 miles west .Had more wind than the
rest which was groovy so decided it was a good place to be when the north
easterlies came in late the following day.
