Gary “Rev”(no connection to the clergy just a preferred nickname ) and Dave are both members of Poole Yacht Club and regularly take part in the PYRA cross channel races. Our regular sailing grounds includes the West Country, North and West France, the Solent, the Channel lslands and the Scillies After dinghy sailing Dave and I bought yachts in 2005, I purchased a Tomahawk 25 and Dave a JAGUAR 28. Apart from sailing with family and friends most of our sailing has been two handed and the voyages/races mentioned were completed together. ln 2009 we sold our boats and combined forces to purchase Resolute. We decided we needed new sailing grounds and challenges, so entered the Fal 500 (placed 6th) in June 2O1O with a view to doing the; AZAB 2011. We are both Yacht master/Coastal qualified, aiming for yacht master offshore in April 2011. We hope to use the AZAB voyage to achieve our Yacht master Ocean qualification

Dave has a keen interest in outdoor activities, which over the years have included Hang Gliding, parachuting, mountain biking and sailing. He lives in Hazelbury Bryan Dorset and plays for the village cricket club. For the clubs annual tour in 2008 the whole team sailed to Alderney in 4 yachts and won both matches against the home side. Dave leads an active social life and can often be found in the local pub. If you ask any of his friends they will agree that he is not adverse to the odd pint of beer!!
